Phuket
Phuket really does have it all! As well as stunning beaches, tropical
jungles, delicious local food and friendly people, there's also loads for
families to do
Children, especially the older ones, will enjoy
many of the sightseeing tours - Phang Nga Bay has stunning limestone
scenery and trips generally include an exiting trip on a longtail boat
through the mangroves. Alternatively, tours of Phi Phi give the
opportunity for great snorkelling safely in shallow water.
Or you could try and eco-tours and try an
activities like rafting, kayaking, elephant riding, trekking or bird
watching. Several local companies offer family friendly outings to nearby
islands which feature snorkelling, lunch and beach hopping
A holiday in Phuket is also a great chance to learn a new skill,
especially in the water. Children over 12, can take a PADI dive course (go
and see the dive shop in the hotel or visit
www.sea-bees.com). Alternatively, east
of Patong there is a water-ski centre which offers instruction in both
water skiing and wakeboarding.

The Amari Coral Beach
Resort is perfectly placed for a family
holiday. As the resort on the headland of Patong, you can be sure of
perfect peace and quiet at night, but you are still only 10 minutes walk
from the bustling nightlife of Patong. Similarly, in the daytime you can
relax at hotels two pools and small private beach, or for a change of
scene walk down to the vibrant Patong Beach. In addition, the hotel runs a
shuttle bus to Karon Beach every day - this is a great long beach on which
to stretch your legs and not as busy as Patong. |
