Press Release
Visit the Research Station in Doi Angkhang And Meet the Junior
Guides

Vistors to the Royal Project in Doi Angkhang at the weekend will
now find a "junior guide" on hand to show them around. The guides, trained
by the Angkhang Nature Resort in Doi Angkhang, are there to ensure
tourists have correct information about the Royal Project, and the
surrounding area which is inhabited by several different hilltribes. The
guides can also give tourists an insight into the lives which the local
people lead.
The junior guide program has been in place for 2 years and more than 60
guides have been trained, with extremely positive feedback from visitors.
Other initiatives have included setting up a co-operative shop where the
local hilltribes can sell the handicrafts which they produce and building
a "show house" so that guests can get an impression of the hilltribe
lifestyle.
