The Angkhang Nature Resort, sits 1,400 metres above sea level, high in the scenic mountain range of Doi Angkhang.

Developed as part of the Royal Angkhang Agriculture Station Project, an agricultural and horticultural scheme run under the auspices of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Angkhang Nature Resort offers the peace and tranquillity of isolated, unspoiled countryside in the cool, clear and clean air of Thailand's north. His Serene Highness Prince Phisadej Rajani, Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation, spearheads the team which make the Royal Angkhang Agriculture Station Project such a prime example of man working with nature instead of against her.

The Project focuses on crop substitution to develop new highland crops for the hill tribes. The result is a wider variety of marketable produce and a sustainable income in a region which was previously cash poor and dependant on growing illegal opium as the only source of income.

Reflecting a rustic charm, the accommodation provided at Angkhang Nature Resort is well-appointed and comfortable. Each of the 72 standard rooms and 2 suites feature wall-to-wall carpeting, teak furniture, beautiful Thai fabrics and local craft work. All have their own private facilities and a roomy balcony overlooking the lush, green landscape. The resort restaurant serves delicious and nutritious Thai, Northern Thai and Western specialities using fresh produce from the Royal Project. A modern conference room for up to 115 participants is also available.

At Angkhang Nature Resort, on the border mountain range, it is the simple pleasures which will delight visitors. The surrounding countryside is the natural habitat of many of Thailand's varied flora and fauna and provides a resting spot for many species of migratory birds, making it the ideal base for bird watching and nature treks. The cool, unpolluted mountain climate is also ideal for hikers or mountain biking or for a refreshing break from Bangkok and abroad.
